The Institute is a premier social science research institution supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). It places a high priority on policy-oriented research using latest technology (including media technology) at the national level and in the area of industrial development.

ISID needs faculty for its Media Center at Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor levels.

The applicants should have a Doctoral or equivalent degree in Mass Communication/Media Production and refereed published research work/professional work in mass media of high quality and research, teaching/professional experience, of at least ten and five years, respectively for the Posts of Professor and Associate Professor. The minimum prescribed qualification for Assistant Professor is Masters degree in Media Studies or equivalent degree in the area.

The candidates should have proven aptitude and inclination for undertaking media production work independently.
