Dr Satyaki Roy is an Assistant Professor at the Institute. He did his Masters in Economics from Jadavpur University and Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta.

His research interest includes issues related to industrial organization, industrial clusters, technology and employment. He worked on garments, leather, surgical instruments and automobile industry in India. His areas of interest also include issues related to political economy of development.

He worked in various projects sponsored by the Planning Commission and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India; ICSSR, IDE, Japan and IDRC, Canada.
